CLATUU is the latest non-surgical body-sculpting device offering suitable patients a good alternative to surgical fat reduction.
CLATUU permanently destroys fat through a process known as cryolipolysis, or fat freezing. The freezing of fat cells causes them to be broken down and eliminated by the body’s natural processes over a period of two to three months.
It works by gently drawing fat into the 360-degree applicators and cooling the area to a temperature that causes fat cells to die without harming the skin.

What does the procedure involve?
Treatment is quick and typically takes around 60 minutes, making it a great lunchtime procedure. There is no downtime involved, so you can return to work or usual activities straight away.
“For the right candidate, CLATUU is an ideal lunch time procedure. There is minimal discomfort involved during the treatment – you may feel a cooling sensation, but no actual pain,” says Dr Ritu Gupta.
Over the following weeks and months after the treatment, the body naturally eliminates the destroyed fat through the lymphatic system.
“Typically only one treatment per area is required, which is an amazing advance in the area of body sculpting. Results are usually seen at three months, with further improvement at six months,” says Dr Matulich.
What areas can be treated?
CLATUU can be used on nearly any area of the body, and treatment can be tailored to individual concerns.
“Any areas with pinchable fat (at least an inch) can be treated with CLATUU.
The most popular areas for treatment are the underarms, the handlebars or love handles, the saddlebags or the area near the buttocks and the front of the abdomen or tummy area,” says Dr Matulich.
Treatment with CLATUU can achieve a 30% fat reduction. What’s more, two areas can be treated at once.
What kind of results can you expect?
If you gain weight in the future, fat will accumulate, but not to the same extent in the treated areas as those fat cells have been permanently destroyed. “In the treated area, fat removal is permanent,” says Dr Gupta.
