Today, we’re shining the spotlight on a ground-breaking study regarding BroadBand Light (BBL) treatments, an anti-ageing treatment we are pleased to offer at Platinum Dermatology. The clinical research reveals that BBL treatments
Provide a functional, rather than a
cosmetic mimic of youthful appearance
What does that mean for your skin? That’s what this article is all about.
Platinum Dermatology Studies Ways to Reverse Skin Ageing with BBL
Stanford University, located in California, is one of America’s most respected medical schools, with an outstanding department of dermatology dedicated toward a better understanding on the human skin. University dermatologist Dr Anne Lynn S. Chang led a study titled “Rejuvenation of Gene Expression Pattern of Aged Human Skin by BroadBand Light Treatment” which was published by the Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID).
“Gene expression” is a medical term for the process that allows the information encoded in a gene to be turned into action. The study showed that BBL treatments can actually alter the regulators of skin ageing (functional) in addition to improving skin tone and texture (cosmetic mimic).
These positive results underscore the effectiveness of BroadBand Light treatments to reverse skin damage.
Anti-Ageing Research Continues, & Platinum Dermatology Will Keep You in the Loop
One co-author of the Stamford study will be taking the ground-breaking research it produced to the next level.
“The JID study is an important first step to prove that BBL treatments are a viable option for anti-aging. In my upcoming study, we provide clinical evidence on patients who have had BBL and have enjoyed younger looking skin over the long-term. I look forward to sharing these demonstrated results with my colleagues and patients worldwide in the near future.” – Dr Patrick Bitter, Jr.
Our skin specialists will keep following these developments and report on them soon.
